{"id":1380,"date":"2010-04-19T10:28:35","date_gmt":"2010-04-19T14:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/savethebalafalls.com\/?p=1380"},"modified":"2011-07-20T17:47:24","modified_gmt":"2011-07-20T21:47:24","slug":"intelligent-sounding-but-evasive-responses-from-the-proponent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/savethebalafalls.com\/?p=1380","title":{"rendered":"Intelligent-sounding but Evasive Responses from the Proponent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As did many of you, by November 27, 2009, we provided a <a href=\"https:\/\/savethebalafalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/savethebalafalls-esr-technical-response-20091127.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">detailed response<\/a> to the proponent&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/balafalls.ca\/esrgood.html\" target=\"_blank\">environmental screening report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On April 1, 2010, the proponent provided a reply (consisting of a <a href=\"https:\/\/savethebalafalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/mitchell-shnier-save-the-bala-falls-er-response-2010-04-01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">main reply<\/a>, plus a <a href=\"https:\/\/savethebalafalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/mitchell-shnier-response-to-comments-on-noise.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">sound and vibration reply<\/a>) to our response.<\/p>\n<p>The proponent&#8217;s reply provided a useful answer to only one of our 69 questions. The remainder repeated statements we already questioned, answered questions we did not ask, was evasive, non-committal, and basically said, &#8220;let&#8217;s just get started and hope it all works out&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, on April 19, 2010 we sent <a href=\"https:\/\/savethebalafalls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/ministry-of-the-environment-20100418.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this letter<\/a> to the Ministry of the Environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As did many of you, by November 27, 2009, we provided a detailed response to the proponent&#8217;s environmental screening report.
