It will take years to get those people back as they would have adopted alternative destinations.<br \/>\n\tBala had experience with a situation like this about 10 years ago with the construction of the sewers which made tourists and cottagers avoid Bala and had a serious negative economic impact on the town from which Bala only slowly recovered.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Will the farmers\u2019 market operate during construction?<\/strong><br \/>\n\tNOT LIKELY! \u2013 the Canadian Shield parking area would be commandeered by THE PROPONENT during construction for a materials and heavy equipment storage area.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Will Cranberry Festival be affected?<\/strong><br \/>\n\tUNKNOWN! \u2013 no assessment completed. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Will the extra traffic and visitors on long weekends and holidays be affected? <\/strong><br \/>\n\tUNKNOWN! \u2013 no traffic pattern assessment completed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How will the economy of Bala be affected?
